Pinterest Predicts: The Interior Trends Everyone Will Be Talking About This Year

Every year, we wait eagerly for Pinterest’s 'Trend Report', a crystal ball into the ideas and aesthetics about to dominate homes worldwide. This year, tiles are taking centre stage, with texture, pattern and nostalgia leading the charge. And at Lego Room, we’re already seeing the same sparks of joy lighting up our own collections.
Here’s our edit of the three biggest tile stories making waves right now.
Striped Tiles

Pinterest data shows a huge 447% surge in searches for striped tile bathrooms, and honestly, we’re not surprised. Stripes have that magical ability to be both playful and polished.
Picture them running vertically in a shower space, stretching the height of the room, or laid horizontally to create that boutique hotel look. Stripes have the wonderful visual ability to stretch a space: lay them vertically to create height, and horizontally to create width.
Look to our Lego Room ranges, and combine two or three tones to create a charming stripe for your space.
Terracotta Tiles

Terracotta is back, but not as we knew it. With searches for terracotta tile textures soaring by 833%, this isn’t just about colour. It’s about surfaces that feel earthy, grounding and full of soul.
Think sun-baked herringbone floors in kitchens, rustic square tiles in garden rooms, or brick-effect walls with a natural charm that catches the light. This trend embraces the terracotta texture, which can bring a grounding feel to any space.
In Lego room : Terracotta isn’t limited to traditional country cottages. Pair it with sleek black cabinetry or modern minimal furniture, and suddenly it feels very 2026. Explore our Terracotta Effect range here.
Vintage Tiles

The biggest riser of all? Vintage tiles: up an incredible 1,107%. Nostalgia is everywhere right now, and interiors are no exception to that.
From starburst encaustics to ornate florals and faded geometrics, vintage tiles bring instant story and charm. They look fabulous in hallways, boot rooms and bathrooms, creating that layered, collected-over-time aesthetic everyone craves. The best part is that these tiles don't actually have to be old, they just need to carry that retro effect. We especially love our Retro collections for their weathered beauty
A designer trick we love: mix vintage-style patterns with plain Zellige or Terracotta Tiles for a balanced look. It’s a way to celebrate decorative detail without overwhelming the space.
